Overview — Connecting a Windows PC to Your POS System (Verifone & Gilbarco Sites Only)

Purpose

This article provides an overview for customers who need to connect a Windows PC to their POS system at Verifone or Gilbarco sites. It’s intended for stores that do not use back-office software or that use PetroSoft (CStoreOffice).

This process includes the following steps:

  • Gathering the necessary supplies to make a physical connection

  • Identifying your Managed Network Service Provider (MNSP)

  • Running an Ethernet cable between the Windows PC and the MNSP box

  • Configuring your Windows PC to communicate with the MNSP

We cover all of these topics in the Backoffice Connections for LottoShield Pro section of this Help Center.

Before You Begin

⚠️ Important:
Some gas station setups can be more complex depending on store size and network configuration.
If you’re not comfortable making the backoffice connection yourself, we highly recommend contacting a your managed network service provider for assistance.

Do You Need to Follow This Guide?

If you’re not currently using backoffice software, it’s likely that you do not have a connection between your Managed Network Service Provider (MNSP) box and a Windows PC.
This also applies if you are using PetroSoft (CStoreOffice), which connects directly to the MNSP without the need for a Windows PC connection.

You likely already have a backoffice connection if your site uses one of the following services:

  • PDI Essentials (CStorePro)

  • S2K (Note: S2K Prime does not have a backoffice connection)

  • Success System

  • SSCS

  • Skupos

If your store uses any of the services above, you can skip this setup and move directly to the Getting Started with LottoShield Pro.
