Overview of Vending Machines Services in LottoShield

LottoShield provides two levels of vending machine tracking services for stores that operate lottery vending machines. Each level is designed to meet different operational, accounting and security needs.

Basic Vending Machine Service

The Basic Service is included with all standard LottoShield accounts.

Basic Service requires:

• Only scanning packs as they are added to the vending machine

With this service, you can:

• Track which scratcher packs have been place in your vending machine

This ensures all packs placed into the vending machine are not flagged as missing in LottoShield.

The Basic Service does not provide tracking and reconciliation of individual tickets inside the machine. Because of this, it is best suited for companies that don't require detailed visibility into vending machine inventory and sales or locations where the vending machine is limited and managed only by one employee. This way does have vulnerabilities.

Managed Vending Machine Service

The Managed Service is an optional upgrade that provides advanced tracking and reconciliation for vending machines at item level. This service is designed for stores that want more detailed visibility into vending machine inventory and sales.

Managed Service mandatory requirements:

• Performing regular vending machine audits during shift closes (Shift close on the vending machine are typically done once per day or week)
  
  
• Uploading vending machine shift report slips (and in some states, daily countertop terminal slips) into LottoShield

With these additional data points, LottoShield is able to:

• Track individual ticket movement 
  
  
• Provide detailed reconciliation. Ticket movement compared to sales from the vending machine shift report.
