Overview of Vending Machines in LottoShield

LottoShield provides two levels of vending machine tracking for stores that operate lottery vending machines. Each level is designed to meet different operational, accounting and security needs.

Basic Vending Machine Service

The Basic Service is included with all standard LottoShield accounts.

Basic Service requires:

• Scanning packs as they are added to the vending machine

With this service, you can:

• Track which scratcher packs have been place in your vending machine

This ensures all packs placed into the vending machine are properly accounted for and not flagged as missing in LottoShield.

The Basic Service does not provide automated tracking and reconciliation of individual tickets inside the machine. Because of this, it is best suited for companies that don't require detailed visibility into vending machine inventory and sales or locations where the vending machine is secure and managed only by the most trusted employees who handle all pack loading and maintenance.

Managed Vending Machine Service

The Managed Service is an optional upgrade that provides advanced tracking and automated reconciliation for vending machines at the individual ticket level. This service is designed for stores that require more detailed visibility into vending machine inventory and sales.

Managed Service requires:

• Performing regular vending machine audits during shift closes
  
  
• Uploading vending machine shift report slips (and in some states, daily countertop terminal slips) into LottoShield
  
  
• Approximately 10 minutes of additional time per shift close
  
  

With these additional data points, LottoShield is able to:

• Track individual ticket movement, not just complete packs
  
  
• Provide detailed reconciliation, similar to what you see in your POS sales and scratcher display case audits
