Voids in the LottoShield Pro Portal
Voided tickets are a common source of register shortages because they can mask errors or potential misuse. To address this, LottoShield’s integration with your Point of Sale (POS) system automatically monitors and records all voided lottery transactions.
This allows you to:
-
Identify which employees are performing voids.
-
Detect patterns, such as frequent voids by the same employee or voids followed by shortages in audits.
-
Gain a transparent view of how voids contribute to cash discrepancies.
All Voids Tab
The All Voids tab provides a complete record of every voided transaction within the selected date range, displaying key details such as the date and time of the void, the employee responsible, the transaction type (such as Scratcher or Online Lotto), the transaction amount, and the POS terminal or location where it occurred. It also indicates whether the voided transaction was followed by a shortage in your audit, giving managers a comprehensive view of void activity and its potential connection to register discrepancies.
To make analysis easier, LottoShield separates voids by category:
-
Scratcher Voids Tab – focuses on instant tickets.
-
Online Lotto Voids Tab – focuses on draw-based games.
These focused views help in identifying game-type-specific patterns or procedural weaknesses.

Voids followed by Short
The Voids Followed by Short tab is where most users focus their attention, as it highlights voided transactions that are followed by missing tickets in the audit. These cases require immediate review, since the missing tickets must be properly accounted for. By isolating only those transactions where a shortage occurs after a void, this tab streamlines the investigation process and helps managers quickly identify and address potential issues.
