When Should I Audit My Display Case?

The backbone of LottoShield Pro is the Display Case Audit, making the timing and consistency of these audits essential for accurately tracking your scratcher ticket movement. Audits should be performed multiple times daily and on a consistent schedule to ensure precise, reliable results.

The short answer:

Perform a display case audit at the beginning of every shift and right before your store’s day-close operations.

This ensures each audit aligns with the time period your cashier is responsible for the display case, providing clear accountability and a clean break between each day’s activity.

Example Schedule

Let’s say your store operates 24 hours a day with both store day close and lottery day close occurring at 12:00 a.m. (midnight), and your shifts run as follows:

  • 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

  • 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

  • 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

You would perform audits at these times:

  • 6:00 a.m. (start of shift)

  • 2:00 p.m. (start of shift)

  • 10:00 p.m. (start of shift)

  • 11:55 p.m. (just before store and lottery day close)

This schedule provides coverage at the start of each shift and immediately before day close, maintaining accurate, shift-by-shift visibility.

Pro Tip

If your store operates 24 hours, consider aligning your store day close time with your lottery day close time. This simplifies reporting and helps ensure your audit data remains perfectly in sync.
